Three members of the Calvin University men's lacrosse team received All-MIAA honors in the conference's postseason awards announcement on Tuesday.
Senior
Thomas Smith was named All-MIAA First Team, while juniors
Braden Carpenter and
Nate Hanson each earned All-MIAA Second Team recognition.
Calvin finished the 2025 season 6-10 overall and took fourth place in the MIAA with a 3-3 league record.
Thomas Smith
Smith (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich./Grosse Pointe South) earned First Team recognition as a senior following another strong campaign to close his record-breaking career. Smith finished the year with a team-leading 36 goals and ranked second on the Knights with 50 points. He also led the team with 142 total shots and ranked fourth with 14 assists.
In MIAA play, Smith led the conference in shots (58) while finishing sixth in points (22) and points per game (3.67) while tying for sixth in goals (15) and goals per game (2.5).
Smith finished his senior season as the program's all-time leader in career goals (122) and man-up goals (23). He also ranks third in points (161) and seventh in assists (39). This is his third overall All-MIAA recognition after being named All-MIAA Second Team the last two seasons.
Braden Carpenter
Carpenter (Noblesville, Ind./Noblesville) earned his first All-MIAA honor after a strong junior season in which he led the Knights with 51 total points. He also finished second on the team with 34 goals and collected 19 ground balls.
In conference play, Carpenter tied for third in the MIAA in points (24) and points per game (4.0). He also tied for sixth in goals (15), goals per game (2.5), assists (nine) and assists per game (1.5).
Nate Hanson
Hanson (Naperville, Ill./Naperville North) earned his first All-MIAA recognition for his work in the faceoff X for the Knights. Hanson finished his junior season 228-379 in the X for a .602 percentage. In MIAA play, Hanson won 97 of 144 on faceoffs for a .674 percentage, with both numbers ranking second-best in the conference.
For his career, Hanson ranks first in program history with 628 faceoff wins and ranks second in career faceoff percentage (.569).
