Calvin Men's Volleyball Falls to Mount Union in Three

ALLIANCE, Ohio - Today the Calvin men's volleyball team was back in action as it traveled to Mount Union to take on the Purple Raiders in a MCVL matchup. Despite fighting hard to the end, the Knights fell in three sets with scores of 25-16, 25-23, and 30-28.

Calvin finished the match with a .186 hitting percentage with their best performance coming in the third set when they posted a .302.

Sophomore Brady Gudauskas (Naperville, IL/Neuqua Valley) led the attack for the Knights with ten kills and four blocks while Jake Davidson (Lowell, Mich./Lowell) was close behind with nine kills and twelve digs. Sophomore Nick Bultje (Byron Center, Mich./South Christian) contributed eight kills and posted an impressive .500 hitting percentage.

Sophomore setter Cameron Dogger (Holland, Mich./Zion Christian) finished with twenty-one assists while Ezekiel Jalan (Oconomowoc, Wis./Arrowhead) chipped in thirteen assists.

COACHES COMMENT: "They're a fun team to play, hats off to their libero who is a phenomenal player, and we tried our best to not target him," said head coach Spencer Fredrick. "Unfortunately, our service errors hurt us in the first set. The next two sets were only decided by a couple points, but we made sure to let them earn those points as best as we could. Tremendously job by Brady for stepping it up when it mattered and also Giovanni from the service line as well to help with our substitution count. We are looking forward to playing Baldwin Wallace tomorrow!"

UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action tomorrow when they bounce over to Baldwin Wallace to take on the Hornets at 1PM.
