GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin's Van Noord Arena will be the site of MIAA Tournament basketball action this week.

Action begins Tuesday night when the Calvin women's basketball team hosts the Adrian Bulldogs at 7 p.m. in a first round MIAA Tournament game. The winner of Tuesday's game will advance to the MIAA Tournament semifinals Friday night at Trine's MTI Center for a 5:30 p.m. matchup against Hope College.

MIAA WOMEN'S BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT BRACKET

Calvin (15-10 overall) is the No. 3 seed for the MIAA Tournament, having finished third in the league standings at 11-5 in conference play. Adrian is the No. 6 seed. The Bulldogs (7-18 overall) finished sixth in the MIAA standings at 6-10 in conference play.

Calvin defeated Adrian 68-45 on January 8 at Van Noord Arena but the Bulldogs came back to defeat the Knights 60-57 on February 8 in the return matchup at Adrian.

Meanwhile, the Calvin men's basketball team will host the MIAA Tournament semifinals and finals this weekend at Van Noord Arena. The semifinals will take place Friday night with No. 2 seed Trine (21-4) set to face the winner of a Wednesday night first round game between No, 6 Adrian (7-18) and No. 3 Hope (14-11). Trine will play in the first Friday semifinal game at 5:30 p.m. Calvin is the top seed and will play in the 7:30 p.m. semifinal game Friday night in the game to follow. Calvin (19-6) will face winner of a Wednesday night first round game between No. 4 Olivet (10-15) and No. 5 Albion (10-15). Friday's semifinal winners will play in the MIAA Tournament finals on Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. at Van Noord Arena.
