ABOUT THE SERIES – Wednesday is the 116
th meeting between the two teams in a series that sees Calvin leading 66-34-15. Calvin has scored 212 goals to Hope's 124 during that span. The Knights have won five of the last seven meetings and are 19-1-5 against Hope over the last 25 meetings. Hope's last win over Calvin was in 2013, a 3-1 win at Hope. Hope's last win at Calvin was in 2010, a 2-1 win at Zuidema Field.
LAST YEAR – The teams met twice last fall with the teams battling to a 1-1 draw in the regular season meeting at Calvin Soccer Stadium. Calvin then won the return matchup 2-1 in the MIAA Tournament semifinals at Van Andel Stadium in November with freshmanÂ

ROUND ONE – Calvin and Hope finished in a 1-1 tie on October 7 at Hope's Van Andel Stadium. Hope's Seth Walters scored the opening goal in the 25
th minute of play. Calvin's
Zac Brooks leveled the match in the 27
th minute with neither team able to score from that point on. Hope continued on to win the MIAA regular season title at 6-0-1 in league play. Calvin finished third in the MIAA at 5-1-1.
ABOUT CALVIN – Calvin comes into the match with a 15-3-1 overall record. Calvin defeated Albion 4-1 Wednesday night in the MIAA Tournament semifinals. The Knights have featured a balanced scoring attack with eight different individuals netting at least two goals this season. JuniorÂ
Matt Torrell leads Calvin in scoring with 22 goal contributions as he has 15 goals, seven assists and 37 points. FreshmanÂ

THE CALVIN COACH – Calvin is led by head men's soccer coachÂ
Ryan Souders who is in his 14
th season at the helm of the Knights. Souders is a 2007 graduate of Wheaton College. At Wheaton he was the starting goalkeeper on a Thunder side that reached the Division III National Championship final in 2006. He is 249-39-16. In 14 years at Calvin and he has led the Knights to 12 MIAA regular season championships. He led Calvin to the national championship final in 2016 and 2018 and to NCAA III Final Fours in 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019.
ABOUT HOPE – Hope comes into the match with an 11-5-2 overall record. Hope is coming off a 3-1 victory over Adrian in the MIAA Tournament semifinals Wednesday night. Sophomore forward Jackson Mindling leads Hope in scoring with 13 goals, three assists and 29 points. Junior Seth Walters is next with nine goals, one assist and 19 points. Josh Weigel has four goals, five assists and 13 points. Daniel Morgan has been the lead goalkeeper for Hope this fall. Morgan is 9-1-2 with 31 saves and a 0.65 goals-against-average.
THE HOPE COACH – Hope is led by fourth-year head coach David Blahnik. He is 43-17-14 in four years as head coach. He previously served as head coach at Olivet Nazarene University, guiding the school to five NAIA national tournament appearances. He is a graduate of Olivet Nazarene where he was an all-conference soccer player, graduating in 2006.
