Calvin University sophomore Kaden McCullough was named MIAA Defensive Player of the Week for football on Monday.
 
McCullough (Allendale, Mich./Allendale) won the honor for his performance in the Knights' 34-31 win over Trine University on Saturday.
 
In the three-point win, McCullough recorded 11 total tackles, including 3.0 sacks and 4.0 tackles for loss that resulted in 33 total negative yards for the Thunder. He also added one pass breakup and another quarterback hurry.
 
This season, McCullough ranks third on the Knights with 42 total tackles and 7.0 tackles for loss. He is also tied for second with 4.0 sacks.
 
The 5-2 Calvin football team will return to action on Saturday, November 1, when it hosts The University of Olivet at 1:00 PM at Calvin Soccer Stadium.
