GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Today the Calvin women's swim and dive team competed in two different meets as half the team competed in a MIAA tri-meet in the Venema Aquatic Center while the other half traveled to take on Division II opponent Wayne State.

The Knights kicked the tri-meet off in the 400-medley relay where junior
Tori Beigle (Petoskey, Mich/Petoskey), sophomore
Anya Hopek (DeWitt, Mich./DeWitt), freshman
Alea Casipit (Midland, Mich./Herbert Henry Dow), and freshman
Emmersyn Erway (Davison, Mich./Davison) took second place with a time of 4:16.19.

Calvin picked up their first top finisher of the day when junior
Kailee Turner (Monroe, Mich./Monroe) recorded a time of 19:25.87 in the 1650-freestyle. Casipit also nabbed a first place finish for the Knights in the 200-butterfly when she touched at 2:19.97.Â

On the diving board, sophomore
Veronica Skipper placed first on both the one meter board (238.64) and the three meter board (256.27).

Calvi finished up their tri-meet appearance in the 200-freestyle relay where sophomore
Grace Carpenter (Ada, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian), freshman
Vivian Rizer (Grosse Pointe Farms, Mich./Grosse Pointe Farms), freshman
Emily Baartman (Riverside, Ill./Riverside Brookfield), and Casipit took second place with a time of 1:45.79.

The Knights started out the meet with a bang when they took first place in the 200-medley relay. Freshman
Zoe Poe (Bridgeville, Pa./South Fayette Twp.) also had a strong showing when she took third in the 1000 freestyle (10:38.45) and second in the 100 butterfly (1:02.20).Â

In the 200-freestyle junior Kristen Winkle (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) took third with a time 2:07.33 while freshman
Ella Andrews (Carmel, Ind./Heritage Christian School) (25.10) and junior
Meghan Bengelink (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian) (25.16) nabbed the second and third place spots in the 50 freestyle.

Andrews also had a good showing in the 100 freestyle where she placed third with a time of 55.55. The Knights recorded two more third place finishes in the 100 backstroke by
Katie Phippen (Macomb, Ill./Calvary Baptist) (1:08.17) and in the 500 freestyle by
Madi McNearney (5:32.99).

In the 100-breaststroke freshman Gracie Granger (Tipp City, Ohio/Tippercanoe) placed third with a time of 1:10.18 while fellow freshman
Eloise Harrison (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) was close behind in fourth with a time of 1:12.29.

The Knights finished their evening on a high note as they placed first in the 200-freestyle relay.
