SPRINGFIELD, Ohio - Today the Calvin University women's soccer team traveled to Springfield, Ohio where the Knights fell 1-0 to the Tigers of Wittenberg.

It was a defensive showdown as the only goal of the game came in the 31st minute by the Tigers. Calvin (1-1-1) outshot Wittenberg (1-2) 14-7 but were unable to find the back of the net during the 90 minutes of play.Â

Liz Williams (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian) led the attack for Calvin with four shots while
Mikaela Waroway (Ann Arbor, Mich./Father Gabriel Richard) recorded three shots.Â

However,
Olivia Rawls (Geneva, Ill./Geneva),
Sophie Mueller (North Muskegon, Mich./North Muskegon), and
Mia Judd (Grand Ledge, Mich./Lansing Christian) were the only ones who forced the Wittenberg goalkeeper Lily Winkle to make a save as they each recorded one shot on target.

Emily Ottenhoff. "We certainly generated enough chances to win the game but it's on us to put them away. Credit to Wittenberg for being persistent and opportunistic when they had the chance"
