Calvin Track and Field Program Lands Four on USTFCCCA All-Region Teams

The Calvin outdoor track and field program has landed four individuals on the United States Track and Field Cross Country Coaches Association Division III Great Lakes All-Region teams.
Named to the USTFCCCA All-Region women's team from Calvin are senior Jenna Allman and sophomores Sophie Bull and Katie Seinen. Named to the all-region honor squad from the men's team is junior Luke Witvliet.  

In order to receive all-region status, individuals needed to have posted a top five time or mark in an individual event in their respective region or had been a member of a relay team that posted a top three time in the region.

JENNA ALLMAN (Ann Arbor, Mich./Saline HS)

Allman posted the second-fastest time in the Great Lakes Region in the steeplechase (10:38.38) and the fifth-fastest in the 5,000 meters (17:14.19). She is receiving all-region honors in outdoor track and field for the third consecutive year. She also earned all-region honors for indoor track and field this past March. She is scheduled to compete in the steeplechase at the NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend.

SOPHIE BULL (Denver, Co./Denver Christian HS)

Bull has posted the fastest time in the Great Lakes Region in the steeplechase (10:35.41). She is receiving all-region honors in track and field for the first time in outdoor track and field. She was an indoor all-region honoree this past March. She is scheduled to compete in the steeplechase at the NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend.


KATIE SEINEN (Jenison, Mich./Unity Christian HS)

Seinen has posted the fourth-best pole vault height in the Great Lakes Region this spring with a vault of 3.70 meters (12-1 ½). She is receiving all-region honors for the first time in track and field.

LUKE WITVLIET (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS)

Witvliet has posted the fourth-best time in the Great Lakes Region this spring in the 10,000 meters (29:41.70). He is scheduled to compete in the race next weekend at the NCAA III Outdoor Track and Field Championships next weekend. He is receiving all-region honors for outdoor track and field for the first time. He was an all-region honoree this past March for indoor track and field.
