The Calvin-Hope women's soccer rivalry is set to renew on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. in the MIAA Tournament Championship final at Calvin Soccer Stadium.

Calvin will enter the game ranked 16
th in the Division III Top 25 poll conducted by the United Soccer Coaches Association while Hope has received votes in the poll. Calvin is ranked 11
th in the NCAA Power Index (NPI) rankings while Hope is ranked 42
nd.

Calvin will carry an overall record of 13-2-2 into the match while Hope is currently 12-3-2. Calvin captured its fifth consecutive MIAA regular season title with an 8-0-0 league record with Hope finishing second at 6-1-1 in conference play. Â
The two teams met earlier this fall at Hope with Calvin winning 2-0 in a game played on October 16. Both goals were scored in the second half with Calvin's first goal coming off the foot of freshman
Olivia Rawls and the Knights gaining an insurance tally off a Hope goal later on.
Wednesday's match will be the 68
th meeting between the two rivals in a series that dates back to 1988 and sees Calvin holding a 40-19-8 series edge. The last 11 matchups have been tight with Calvin holding a 5-3-3 series edge during that stretch.
Calvin is under the direction of head coachÂ
Emily Ottenhoff who is in her seventh season as head coach. She has a carer won-loss record of 84-24-13 (.718) that includes MIAA regular season titles in 2021 (spring and fall), 2022, 2023 and 2024. She has led Calvin to three MIAA Tournament titles (2021 spring, 2022 & 2023) and NCAA III Tournament trips in 2021 (fall), 2022 and 2023 with the Knights advancing to the Round of 16 of the NCAA III Tournament last November. Ottenhoff is a 2010 Calvin graduate. She was an All-American midfielder for the Knights in 2009 and was part of national quarterfinalist teams in 2006 and 2009. She was also a four-year member of the Calvin women's basketball program including a 2007 team that reached the national quarterfinals.
Calvin is making its 12
th appearance in the MIAA Tournament Championship final. The Knights are 8-1-2 in 11 previous championship final appearances. A year ago, Calvin and Hope finished in a 1-1 draw with Calvin winning a penalty kick shootout 5-3. Calvin's other draw in a final took place in 2007 in 0-0 match with Albion with the Britons winning the shootout 3-2.
Calvin features a balanced scoring attack with 10 different Knights scoring two goals or more this fall. Graduate studentÂ

Calvin advanced to the MIAA Tournament final with a 3-0 win over Adrian in the tournament semifinals Wednesday night.
Hope is under the direction of first-year head coach Holly Van Noord who spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach with the Hope women's soccer program. She has also served as the varsity girls soccer coach at Hudsonville High School. She was a Division I goalkeeper at Liberty University where she was a four-year member of the program. She was a two-time Big South Conference Defensive Player of the Year at Liberty (2014 &2016).Â
The Flying Dutch are making their 10th appearance in the MIAA Tournament Championship final. Hope is 2-5-2 all-time in MIAA Tournament finals, winning the conference tournament in 2014, 2017 and 2021 (fall).
Hope senior forward Carly Wagasky leads the Flying Dutch attack with 10 goals and 20 points. 11 Hope players have two goals or more. Ainsley Harris has five goals, four assists and 14 points. Halle Bernard has three goals, five assists and 11 points. Olivia Dieppa, Liz Bellinger, Margaret Owisany and Lina Rea have three goals and one assist apiece. Grace Fowler has two goals and four assists. Â Senior Kendall Robertson has been the primary goalkeeper for Hope, recording 49 saves and a goals-against-average of 0.85.
