Two members of the Calvin football team have been named to the 2024 All-MIAA Second Team.

Sal Ruffino have both been so honored.
Martens is from Hudsonville, Michigan. He is a graduate of Jenison High School. He had a standout first year of collegiate football, leading the MIAA in tackles in conference play. In seven conference games, Martens had 70 tackles. He finished the season with a flourish, recording four straight games of double-digit tackles including a career-high 15 tackles in the season finale this past Saturday against Albion. In overall games, Martens led all MIAA players in tackles with 86 stops which included 9.5 tackles for loss and four quarterback sacks. He was also credited with nine quarterback hurries and blocked two kicks.
Ruffino is from Shelby Township, Michigan. He is a graduate of Eisenhower High School. In conference play, he was second in the MIAA in made field goals (5) including a long of 40 yards in a November 2 game at Olivet. In overall games, Ruffino was 11 of 17 on field goal attempts, connecting on 41-yarders against Oberlin (September 7) and Concordia (Sept. 14). In addition, he was 30 of 31 on PAT's during the season. He connected on field goals in seven of Calvin's 10 contests during the 2024 campaign.
