Calvin Women's Track & Field Has Strong Weekend at Last-Chance Meets

RESULTS

A group of Calvin women's track and field athletes competed at the St. Francis Fighting Chance Invitational this weekend.

Junior Jenna Allman (Ann Arbor, Mich./Saline HS) led the way by winning the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a career-best time of 10:48.93 that places her 13th on the NCAA III performance list.

Calvin also received strong efforts in the throws. Freshman RyAnn Rohrer (Ludington, Mich./Ludington HS) took second with a career-best throw of 139-7 that places her 32nd on the NCAA III performance list while sophomore Karen Bekhet (Whitinsville, Mass./Whitinsville Christian HS) was 3rd (138-7). Rohrer then place sixth in the shot put with a throw of 43-3 ¾.

In the triple jump, freshman Katelyn DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) was 13th (34-0 ¼) while freshman sister Mia DeJonge (Bellevue, Wash./Bellevue Christian HS) was 14th in the 100 meter hurdles (16:49).
