The Knights also saw great production from their relay teams on the 200 medley relay as Isabella Gable (Greenville, Oh./Arcanum-Butler HS), Elyse Radawski (Jenison, Mich./Jenison), Farrell, and Merkel finished in second with a time of 1:49.44 while Abigail Merz (Flint, Mich./Powers Catholic), Grace Carpenter (Ada, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian), Jenna Pierce (Holland, Mich./Holland Christian), and McNearney were close behind in third at 1:54.43.
COACHES COMMENT: "We wanted to carry the theme from last week of using the setting and low stress situations to be aggressive and kind of figure some things out," said head coach Dan Gelderloos. "It was a middle of the pack kind of meet for our depth so we tried to make sure the people who are lucky enough to be in the top tier and race in the limelight could clear the way for them to get some big races in. I think we did a pretty good job of that and kept the integrity of the meet and came away with some good work.
Next week is a big meet for us. That's always kind of a 'starred' meet for us to gauge where we are at this point in the season before we put the finishing touches on what we can do at the December invite."
UP NEXT: The Knights will be back in action next Friday when they host a quad meet between Carthage, Ohio Northern, and Albion. Friday's session will start at 6PM while Saturday's sessions will begin at 10AM and 4:30PM.
