GRAND RAPIDS - The Calvin women's tennis team lost its exhibition match to Cornerstone 8-1 on Tuesday.
First-year player 
Tessa Holman (Washington, Mich./Romeo) was responsible for the Knights' lone point on the day after winning her No. 4 singles match in straight sets 6-4, 6-4.
The Golden Eagles took four of the other five singles contests in straight sets, while Calvin No. 5 
Elise Norman (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) battled to a third set but fell in the tiebreaker 10-7.
Cornerstone opened the match with three doubles wins by the scores of 8-1, 8-5 and 8-2.
NEXT UP: Calvin women's tennis will return to action on Friday, September 16, when it plays in a tournament hosted by Hope College starting at 8 AM.
