OLIVET, Mich. – The Calvin men's swimming and diving team gained a 146-63 dual meet victory at Olivet Saturday afternoon. The Knights are now 6-1 in dual meet competition this season.
Calvin opened the meet by winning the 400 medley relay in a time of 3:33.53. Calvin's relay consisted of freshman David Bajwa (Potomac, Md./The Heights School), freshman Anthony Crudele (Aurora, Il./Home School), junior Julien Camy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and sophomore Forrest Peterson (Middleton, Mn./Middleton HS).
Peterson was a double winner individually, taking the 50 freestyle (21.99) and 500 freestyle (4:53.14).
Crudele was a winner in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:17.23. Bajwa won the 200 backstroke in a time of 2:00.46.
Freshman Joshua Seidelman (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) won the 200 freestyle in a time of 1:47.23.
Sophomore Austin Martinson (Aurora, Il./Metea Valley) won the 400 IM (4:21.09). Sophomore Corey Campbell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) powered his way to a win in the 200 butterfly (2:13.93).
Senior Bryce Miner (Sunnyvale, Ca./Homestead HS) came up with a win in the 100 freestyle in a time of 48.38.
Calvin's 200 freestyle relay of Camy, freshman Patrick Carrow (Deerfield, Il./Deerfield HS), Seidelman and freshman Jack Kulaga (Downers Grove Il./Downers Grove South HS) took home a win with a time of 1:30.71.
NEXT UP: Calvin will host a dual meet against Division II Wayne State next Friday at 5 p.m. at the Venema Aquatic Center.
