WHEATON, Il. – Calvin recorded a 147-110 dual meet victory at Wheaton College Saturday afternoon. Ranked 16th nationally, the Knights are now 3-1 in dual meet competition.
Calvin opened the meet by winning the 200 medley relay by two-tenths of a second. Calvin's winning relay included junior Corey Campbell (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) senior Bryce Miner (Sunnyvale, Ca./Homestead HS), junior Julien Camy (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) and senior Julian Iturbe (Caracas, Venezuela/Emil Friedman).
Iturbe took home a win in the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:44.76.
Junior Jacob Heeres (Zeeland, Mich./Holland Christian HS) continued his strong start to the season by winning the 50 freestyle (21.17) and 100 freestyle (46.44).
Junior William Toomey (Runnells, Ia./Southeast Polk HS) won the 100 backstroke (54.96) and 200 backstroke (1:56.27).
In the 1,000 freestyle, freshman Joshua Seidelman (Northville, Mich./Northville HS) took home a win with a time of 10:17.19.
The 500 freestyle win went to junior Caleb Terschak (Wildwood, Mo./Westminster Christian Academy) in a time of 5:01.99.
Sophomore Forrest Peterson (Middleton, Mn./Middleton HS) was the winner in the 100 butterfly in a time of 50.78.
Calvin will now break until December 2 when it opens competition hosting its own three-day Calvin Winter Invitational.
