Box Score ADRIAN, Mich. – The No. 4 ranked Calvin women's volleyball team claimed a 25-18, 25-10, 25-18 conference victory at Adrian Wednesday night to improve to 25-2 overall and 7-0 in the MIAA.
The victory sets up a showdown for the MIAA regular season title at Hope on Saturday with both teams heading in holding lofty national rankings and 7-0 conference records.
In its win over Adrian, Calvin hit .298 as a team including .421 in set two and .333 in set three.
Senior Kelsey Smith (Vienna, Va./Madison HS) led Calvin with 11 kills and a .450 hitting percentage. Senior Gabriella Kellogg (Belleville, Mich./Plymouth Christian Academy) had eight kills and five digs.
Senior Madelyn Hall (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) tallied six kills and two block assists.
Junior Maria Bos (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) served up three aces and picked up 11 digs.
Senior Anna Schriemer (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS) and junior Aubrey Wrubel (Jenison, Mich./Jenison HS) had strong outings with Schriemer collecting 14 assists and two aces while Wrubel had 16 assists, three aces and five digs.
As a team, Calvin amassed 50 digs and nine blocks.
COACHES COMMENT: "It was nice to see people step up tonight," said Calvin head women's volleyball coach Amber Warners. "We served well and played well at the net."
NEXT UP: Calvin will travel to Hope on Saturday for a 1 p.m. match.
