Box Score GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Calvin rolled to a 25-18, 25-9, 25-10 conference victory over Kalamazoo Tuesday night inside Van Noord Arena.
Ranked sixth nationally, the Knights (21-2 overall, 6-0 MIAA) remain unbeaten in league play heading into a big weekend of non-conference action.
Calvin served up 11 aces in the win led by senior Anna Schriemer (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS) who finished the night with 10 assists, four digs and three aces.
Senior Grace Kellogg (Belleville, Mich./Plymouth Christian Academy) and junior Alyssa Lester (Holland, Mich./Hamilton HS) had two service aces each with four other Knights contributing one ace apiece.
Junior Heidi Westra (Clarendon Hills, Il./Timothy Christian HS) tallied 10 kills, six digs and four assists to earn 10 points for the Knights on the court.
Senior Madelyn Hall (Hudsonville, Mich./Hudsonville HS) had a big night with nine kills while hitting at a .462 clip. Grace Kellogg also had six digs.
Junior Aubrey Wrubel (Jenison, Mich./JenisonHS) had 15 assists, one ace and three digs.
As a team, Calvin hit .284 in the win.
COACHES COMMENT: "We did what we needed to do to get the job done," said Calvin head women's volleyball coach Amber Warners "We had last weekend off so we have to sharpen things up moving forward."
NEXT UP: Calvin will host its own Midwest Invitational Friday and Saturday. Calvin will be one of four nationally-ranked teams in the field with the Knights scheduled to face 14th-ranked Ohio Norther and second-ranked Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Friday matches inside Van Noord Arena.
