GROVE CITY, Pa. - Calvin rolled past Grove City College 173-112 in a dual meet Friday night. The meet featured several events that were changed to short course yardage.
Senior Emily Gunderson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer HS) was a double-winner, taking first place in the 50 backstroke (27.80) and 100 backstroke (1:02.10).
Sophomore Samantha Sonday (Portage, Mich./Portage Central HS) was also a double-winner, taking first in the 50 breaststroke (32.77) and 100 breaststroke (1:11.37).
Junior Hannabeth Magnussen (Oakdale, Ca./Ripon Christian HS) took first place on both diving boards winning the three-meter board with a score of 248.05 and the one-meter board with a season-best score of 250.65.
In the 1,000 freestyle, sophomore Grace Anne Delcompare (Naples, Fla./Home School) clocked in with a first place time of 11:20.53. Junior Hannah Chao (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington HS) was the winner in the 200 freestyle (1:59.86).
Junior Jenna Oezer (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS) took the 100 butterfly (59.94) while freshman Jayda Kelly (Coldwater, Mich./Coldwater HS) won the 50 free (25.44).
Sophomore Emilia Shokoohi (Saginaw, Mich./Heritage HS) also picked up a win in the 100 freestyle (55.72).
In addition, Calvin's 200 medley relay team of Chao, Sonday, Oezer and Gunderson took first place in a time of 1:50.61.
