Box Score 2 ANGOLA, Ind. - Calvin improved to 11-1 with non-conference victories over Bluffton and Trine Saturday afternoon at Trine's Hershey Hall.
Calvin opened the day with a 25-18, 25-15, 25-15 victory over Bluffton. Senior Sarah DeVries (Grand Rapids, Mich./Northpointe Christian HS) had 11 kills, 19 assists and eight digs. Sophomore Kelsey Smith (Vienna, Va./Madison HS) had 10 kills and four service aces while sophomore Grace Kellogg (Bellevue, Mich./Plymouth Christian HS) had eight kills.
Sophomore Anna Schriemer (Vicksburg, Mich./Vicksburg HS) had 17 assists while freshman Aubrey Wrubel (Jenison, Mich./Jenison HS) had 10 digs.
The Knights then topped MIAA foe Trine in a non-conference affair 25-21, 25-23, 25-20.
DeVries had 11 kills, 15 assists, seven digs and four block assists. Smith had nine kills. Freshman Grace Selman (Naperville, Il./Naperville North HS) had 15 assists and seven digs.
NEXT UP: Calvin returns to action on September 28 when it travels to rival Hope for a 1 p.m. rivalry match that will also serve as the conference opener for the Knights.
