ALBION, Mich. - Calvin dropped a 162.5-125.5 dual meet decision to Albion Friday night.
Calvin was led in the dual meet by senior Anna Serino (Pinckney, Mich./Pinckney HS) who was a triple-winner. Serino opened the evening with a victory in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 11:13.64. She then came right back to win the 200 freestyle, touching out an opponent by four-hundreths of a second. Serino's winning time in the 200 free was 1:58.16. She completed her trifecta by winning the 500 freestyle in a time of 5:22.42.
Junior Emily Gunderson (Ann Arbor, Mich./Pioneer HS) was a winner in the 50 freestyle in a time of 24.63, edging an opponent for the win by five-hundreths of a second.
Sophomore Hannah Chao (Farmington Hills, Mich./North Farmington HS) took second in the 100 backstroke (1:00.84) and 200 IM (2:15.99).
Calvin swept both diving board competitions.
Sophomore Joselyn Smith (Zeeland, Mich./Zeeland West HS) took the one-meter (247.95) and three-meter (219.55) boards while freshman Paige Lynch (Ionia, Mich./Ionia HS) was second on the one-meter (136.10) and three-meter (146.30).
Calvin returns to action on January 19 when it hosts Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology in a dual meet slated to start at 1 p.m.
