GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Calvin treated a large Calvin Homecoming crowd to an 8-0 victory over the visiting Comets of Olivet Saturday evening at Zuidema Field.
Calvin led 2-0 at halftime and popped in six more goals in the second half. Eight different Calvin players scored goals on Saturday.

Trent Vegter (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Christian HS) had three assists on the evening. Hinds Witte and freshman
Jack Lee (Frankenmuth, Mich./Frankenmuth HS) all had single assists on the evening.
Calvin senior goalkeeper
Nate Van Ryn (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) tallied one save and collected his seventh shutout victory of the season.
"It was good to get a conference win in front of a homecoming crowd," said Calvin men's soccer coach
Ryan Souders. "I was pleased to see the committed effort of our entire team tonight. Every single player on our team focused on the job they had to do and they did it well. Now it's time to refocus for a tough road game in three days."
Calvin will travel to Albion next Tuesday for a key conference match. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7 p.m.
