Senior Tanner Vincent (Novi, Mich./Novi HS) took second in the 200 butterfly (2:01.04) while junior Jacob Lensing (Pella, Ia./Pella Christian HS) was second in the 100 breaststroke (1:01.69).

Calvin claimed victories in both relay events.

Senior Max DeYoung (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Eastern HS), sophomore Tim Randall (Grand Rapids, Mich./Grand Rapids Christian HS), Iturbe and Britton won the 400 freestyle relay in a time of 3:12.16. Ben Holstege, sophomore Sam Holstege (Keswick, Va./Covenant HS), Britton and Lensing won the 200 medley relay in a time of 1:34.40.

"One of the goals for the meet was to focus on one thing at a time," said Calvin head swim coach Dan Gelderloos. "We had a very spirited practice last night which was a good thing but it can also be a challenge to energize the same way the next day. We wanted to rebound and get our enthusiasm right away. We also wanted to influence others in a positive way with our support for each other. I thought we were able to execute all three of those goals within the meet."

Calvin returns to action on November 17 when it hosts Wayne State in a non-conference dual meet at 5 p.m.
