Box Score KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The No. 1-ranked Calvin men's soccer team claimed an important 1-0 conference victory at Kalamazoo Saturday afternoon.
The Knights improve to 15-0-0-1 opverall and 11-0-1 in the MIAA heading into the final week of conference play.

Trent Vegter (Hudsonville, Mich./Unity Chrisitan HS) scored the only goal of the match, flicking in a free kick taken by senior
Matt Hinds (Frankenmuth, Mich./Frankenmuth HS) with just 3:04 left in the first half.
The goal was the fourth of the year for Vegter and proved to be the first game-winning goal of his collegiate career.
Calvin outshot Kalamazoo 7-3 in the second half and forced Hornet goalkeeper Griffin Hamel into making three second half saves but neither team scored again.
Calvin finished the match with a 12-7 shots at goal advantage. Senior Nate VanRyn (Grandville, Mich./Calvin Christian HS) collected three saves in posting his 10th shutout victory of the season.
"It's always good to get three points on the road," said Calvin head men's soccer coach
Ryan Souders. "Kalamazoo is always a tough game. We didn't come out great but played a much better second half, creating a lot more on offense. Now we rest up and get ready for Olivet."
Calvin will travel to Olivet on Wednesday for a 4 p.m. match.
