Box Score HOLLAND, Mich. – The women's soccer team snapped a three-match unbeaten streak against the Flying Dutch on Saturday. Hope defeated the Knights, 3-0. Calvin falls to 5-6-1 and 4-3-1 in the MIAA. Hope is now 7-1-2 and 6-0-2 in MIAA action.
"You could clearly see that Hope has a lot of talent," said Calvin head coach Mark Recker. "Their pace of play was quite significant in the first half. I think that we regrouped at halftime and were able to get more combination play together and got a few more offensive opportunities."
Rylie Dalton struck first for Hope with a shot that curled into the upper right corner of the net.
Hope struck again when the Hilary Curry put the ball in the back of the net off of a rebound.
Elizabeth Perkins got past the Calvin defense and made it a 3-0 game, late in the second half.
Senior Allie Corp (Livonia, Mich./Stevenson) and junior Sydney Barcey (Cadillac, Mich./Cadillac) both tallied one shot.
Sophomore Brianna Koehn (Grand Rapids, Mich./Forest Hills Eastern) recorded three saves on Saturday.
The Knights return to action on Tuesday when they resume MIAA action at home against Trine.
