Calvin will face rival Hope in the MIAA Tournament championship final Saturday night at 7 p.m. at Van Noord Arena with the winner receiving an automatic bid to next week's NCAA III Tournament.

Ranked fourth nationally, Calvin (27-3) picked up its 18th consecutive victory by hitting at a .398 clip against the visiting Thunder (12-16).

Senior Maggie Kamp (Orland Park, IL/Chicago Christian HS) led the way for Calvin with 15 kills and a hitting percentage of .364. Junior Laura Danhoff (Willard, OH/Willard HS) had nine kills, four aces, one block solo and two block assists to tally 15 points.

Senior Rachel Lubben (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) also tallied eight kills and a hitting percentage of .571. Sophomore setter Jenna Lodewyk (Villa Park, IL/Chicago Christian HS) had 34 assists, three kills and one service ace. Freshman Keilahna Castillo (Grandville/Grandville HS) amassed a team-high 16 digs while senior Jamie Kooiman (Eugen, OR/South Eugene HS) had 10 digs and a service ace.

As a team, Calvin compiled 10 serivce aces while limiting Trine to a hitting percentage of .078.

"I thought we came out with the right mentality. We weren't too high and we weren't too low," said Calvin women's head volleyball coach Amber Warners. "I felt like we very discipline and driven. In the second set we had a little lapse but I want to give Trine credit for that. They had some serves that took us out of our offense in that set but I thought we responded well and held control for most of the match."

Calvin will now prepare to face 10th-ranked Hope for the third time this year after defeating the Flying Dutch twice during the regular season.

It will mark the 13th time that the two rivals will have met in the MIAA Tournament Championship final including the sixth consecutive year.  Calvin is 10-2 all-time against Hope in the MIAA Tournament final.
