On Saturday afternoon, the Calvin men's basketball team hosted to Comets of Olivet College. Coming off of Wednesday's loss to the Trine University Thunder, Calvin's first conference defeat, the Knights bounced back and defeated the Comets 75-49.

The Knights came out strong, starting the game off with an 8-0 run and continued to control play for the remainder of the half.

Jordan Daley and Austin Parks were both key first half players for the Knights, contributing nine points and two rebounds apiece. 

In the first half of the contest, Calvin shot 50.0% from the floor while Olivet shot 36.0%. The Knights were also 9-9 from the free throw line.

The home team headed into the locker room at the break with a comfortable 37-24 lead.

Calvin carried its momentum into the second half and was first to score in the second half. Jordan Brink quickly got a steal and finished on a fast break layup to give the Knights a fifteen-point lead.

Minutes later, the Knights went on another eight-point run to bring the score to 50-30. After a three-point bucket by Olivet's Kevin Woodson, Calvin answered by scoring nine more consecutive points, giving them a twenty-six-point lead (59-33).

The Knights continued to roll for the remainder of the game and earned themselves another conference victory to improve their record to 12-5 overall and 5-1 in the MIAA.

Jordan Daley led the Knights in both scoring and rebounding, finishing with fifteen points and seven boards. Austin Parks added fourteen points, three assists, and three rebounds. Brad Visser also contributed eleven points and snagged six rebounds.

The Knights outrebounded the visiting Comets 48-36. Calvin's bench was responsible for twenty-nine of the team's points.

On Wednesday evening, the Knights will host the Albion College Britons (8-9 overall, 1-5 MIAA) in another conference matchup. Tip-off is at 7:30 at Calvin College's Van Noord Arena.
