DETROIT – The Calvin men's swimming and diving team dropped a 137-101 dual meet decision at Wayne State Friday night.
Calvin captured four individual events and one relay.
Junior Mitch Schroder (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) continued his strong start to the season by winning the 200 freestyle in a season-best time of 1:46.10.
In the 400 IM, the brother tandem of freshman Tanner Vincent (Novi/Novi HS) and senior Travis Vincent (Novi/Novi HS) teamed up for a 1-2 finish as Tanner was first (4:22.87) and Travis second (4:28.88).
In the 100 butterfly, sophomore Brett Stoughton (Centerville/Centerville HS) won in a time of 52.40 while senior Andrew Vanderlei (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) won the 100 breaststroke in a time of 1:02.30.
In the 200 freestyle relay, senior Alex Baumann (Holland/Holland Christian HS), sophomore Eli Holstege (Keswick, VA/Covenant HS), junior Brandon Muma (Grand Rapids/Forest Hills Eastern HS) and Schroder took home the win in a time of 1:26.68.
Calvin will travel to Olivet for a dual meet on Saturday at 1 p.m.
