The Calvin women's swimming and diving team recorded a 172-128 dual meet victory over MIAA opponent Albion College on Saturday inside the Venema Aquatic Center.
Calvin used strong performances in the freestyle and diving events to pull away for the win.
On the diving boards, Calvin went 1-2-3 on the one-meter board and 1-2 on the three-meter board.
Freshman Sarah Bradley (Wheaton, IL/Wheaton North HS) won the one-meter competition with a score of 248.85 while freshman teammate Nicole Langerak (Jenison/Jenison HS) was second (211.40) and sophomore Hillary Glover (Wyoming/Calvin Christian HS) third (177.80).
Langerak captured the three-meter board with a season-best score of 253.55 with Bradley second (226.65) and Glover fifth (138.20).
Freshman Abby VanHarn (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) continued to cruise in the freestyle events for the Knights winning the 50 freestyle (25.02), 100 freestyle (54.65) and 200 freestyle (1:59.26). Calvin went 1-2-3 in the 50 freestyle as freshman Ana Estrella (Hudsonville/Calvin Christian HS) was second (25.94) and sophomore Adrienne Wesselius (Sioux Center, IA/Unity Christian HS) third (26.07).
In the 1000 freestyle, freshman Rachel Kehren (Lansing/Grand Ledge HS) stepped up to win in a time of 11:33.53.
Junior Megan Schroder (Grand Rapids/Grand Rapids Christian HS) delivered a victory in the 200 backstroke in a season-best time of 2:15.58 while also placing second in the 100 backstroke (1:02.31).
Senior Lexi Scott (Dexter/Dexter HS) won the 100 breaststroke (1:10.17) and 200 breaststroke (2:32.59) while junior Alayna Gallegos (Lakeville, MN/Lakeville HS) swam away with a win in the 200 butterfly (2:15.83).
Calvin's 400 freestyle relay team of Wesselius, Schroder, Estrella and freshman Rachel Mattson (Ann Arbor/Ann Arbor Huron HS) won in a time of 3:46.48.
Calvin returns to action next Saturday when it competes in a triangular at Alma along with Saginaw Valley State.
