Box Score NOTRE DAME, IN - The winless streak continued for the Calvin women's soccer team on Saturday as the Knights suffered a 2-1 conference defeat at Saint Mary's College.
Calvin is now 0-2-2 over its last four games.
Calvin (5-7-2 overall, 4-5-2 MIAA) outshot Saint Mary's 18-8 but the host Belles (6-8-1 overall, 4-6-1 MIAA) struck early, scoring just 1:58 into the match to grab an early 1-0 lead. The Saint Mary's goal was scored by Jenn Jarmy.
Calvin came up with the equalizer in the ninth minute of play as sophomore
Kailey Jo (Grand Rapids Christian HS) scored on a feed from junior
Paige Capel (Hudsonville/Unity Christian HS).
In the 59th minute of play, Saint Mary's capitalized on a corner kick as Mary Kate Hussey headed in a corner taken by Emily Rompola to give the Belles a 2-1 lead.
Calvin the mounted eight shots inside the final 30 minutes of play but the Saint Mary's defense was able to keep the Knights from doing any further damage.
