Calvin captured the championship of the two-day Anderson University Pepsi Classic Friday and Saturday behind a pair of high-scoring performances. 

Ranked 16th in the latest Division III Top-25 poll, Calvin opened tournament play on Friday with a 4-1 victory over Great Lakes regional opponent Anderson University. Calvin then closed out the tournament with a 4-0 win over Urbana (L) Saturday afternoon. 

In the victory over Anderson Friday, all of the scoring took place in the first half as the Knights held a 4-1 lead after 45 minutes of play. Junior midfielder Nick Capisciolto (Unity Christian HS) scored a pair of goals in the first half surge while freshman Michael Holwerda (Grand Rapids Christian HS) and senior Kurt Visker (Grand Rapids Christian HS) also had goals. Visker, Holwerda, sophomore A.J. Dufendach (Forest Hills Northern HS) and senior Levi Kool (Holland Christian HS) also picked up assists for the Knights who outshot the homestanding Ravens 12-10. 

Senior goalkeeper Joe Westra (Grand Rapids Christian HS) went the distance in nets for Calvin, collecting 4 saves.
