Kyle Hofstaedter heads into his second year as Head Men’s Lacrosse Coach at Calvin College. Calvin Men’s Lacrosse Team is entering its fourth season as a varsity program.

Hofstaedter came to Calvin after serving as the defensive coordinator with Eastern University in St. Davids, Pa. He helped the Eagles win the MAC Freedom Conference title and received a bid to the 2014 NCAA Division III Tournament. That same year, the Eagles defeated #11 York College, which gave Eastern’s program its first victory against a ranked opponent. The Eastern Men’s Lacrosse Team also had one All-American and one Scholar All-American that year.

Prior to Hofstaedter’s time at Eastern, he spent three seasons with the Rollins College Men's Lacrosse Team in Winter Park, Florida. Along with the day-to-day operations, he also assisted in the recruitment efforts. On the field, he helped with the team's defense and face-offs. Off the field, he served as an adjunct professor in the Physical Education Department. In his three seasons at Rollins, Hofstaedter coached multiple players to all-conference honors. Of those, faceoff midfielder Peter Harvey ranked fifth in faceoff winning percentage (.622) and second in ground balls per game (7.25).

Before Rollins, Hofstaedter spent two seasons at DeSales University in Center Valley, Pa. While at DeSales, Hofstaedter served in multiple roles as the defensive coordinator, recruiting assistant, and equipment manager. During his time there, he helped coach two First Team All-MAC Conference players. Prior to DeSales, Hofstaedter started his coaching career with the Penn Premier Lacrosse Club.

A native of Perkasie, Pa., Hofstaedter played close defense at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia where he was a two-time MAAC All-Academic selection. At Saint Joseph’s, he helped his team to a second place finish in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in 2007. Hofstaedter earned both his bachelor's degree and master’s degree from Saint Joseph’s University. He also holds a K-12 Business, Computers, and Information Technology teaching certificate from Gwynedd-Mercy College (Pa.).

In addition to playing collegiately, Hofstaedter has played for the Dutch National lacrosse team during the 2006, 2010 and 2014 World Championships, and helped the Dutch National team to a silver medal finish at the 2008 European Championships.

While coaching at Eastern University this past year, Hofstaedter worked for the NHL’s Philadelphia Flyers as a client development executive.

Hofstaedter currently resides in Grand Rapids, Mich., with his wife, Meaghan and their daughter McKenzie.
