Dr. Nancy Meyer is Calvin's Senior Associate Athletics Director and Calvin's Athletics Compliance Director. A 1978 Calvin graduate, Meyer returned to Calvin in 1986 after completing her Eh.D. degree at the University of Northern Colorado. Meyer taught at Calvin from 1979 to 1983, coaching swimming and tennis, before returning to school for her doctoral work. Meyer, a Colorado native, also has a master's degree from the University of Arizona. While at Calvin, Meyer was a varsity softball and volleyball player.

She has served as an athletics director at Calvin since the 1996-97 academic year.

In 1998, Meyer led the Calvin women’s cross country team to its first national championship. She then followed up by leading Calvin its second consecutive national title in 1999. Meyer was named National Women’s Cross Country Coach of the Year in both 1998 and 1999. Meyer stepped down as head women's cross country coach after the 2005 season but continued to serve as an assistant coach with the men's and women's cross country programs from 2006-to-2008.

During her 20 years at the helm of the Calvin women’s cross country program, she led Calvin to 17 league titles, 14 Great Lakes Regional titles and seven top-four national finishes. With 17 MIAA titles to her credit, Meyer coached more league championship teams than anyone else in MIAA women’s cross country history.

Meyer’s teams also excelled in the classroom during her tenure as they earned all-academic team honors from the College Cross Country Coaches Association honors on an annual basis. She also coached six CoSIDA Academic All-Americans as head women's cross country coach.

In addition to coaching the women's cross country team for 20 years, Meyer has also served as the head coach of the women's tennis and men's and women's swimming and diving teams at Calvin. She has also served as a coach in the Calvin softball program.

As an administrator, Meyer served on the NCAA III Track and Field committee for several years. She has also served as the MIAA coordinator for men's and women's track and field and currently serves as the MIAA coordinator for men's and women's cross country.

In addition, Meyer is a full professor in the Calvin kinesiology department. In the classroom, Meyer specializes in teaching courses in exercise science and kinesiology.

She and her husband Roy Hopp have two children: Ally and Ben.
