Mike LeFebre serves Calvin University as the Director of Development for Athletics.
A native of Holland and a 1992 graduate of Calvin, LeFebre returned to his alma mater in 2016 after a career in automotive finance, business banking, and non-profit development. In his current role, LeFebre leads the university’s efforts in donor relations for Athletics. This includes facility campaigns, corporate sponsorships and individual team support.
LeFebre and his wife Jennifer (DeVries) have two married children. Nathan and Hannah LeFebre are both Calvin alums and living in Pasadena, CA. Nicole and Isaiah Heun are also both Calvin alums and living in Ann Arbor, MI. Jennifer is a 1993 Calvin graduate with a degree in Elementary Education.
As a Calvin student, LeFebre was a member of the men’s basketball team, which included a national championship in 1992, a trip to the NCAA Final Four in 1990, and the NCAA Sectional Finals in 1991. He led the MIAA in three-point shooting percentage and was named to both the All-MIAA second team and the NCAA Final Four all-tournament team in 1992.
“My own experience as a student-athlete lit a spark in me for Calvin athletics. My ultimate wish in my work in athletics is that every student-athlete at Calvin has the type of mountaintop experience I did. When they look back on their experience at Calvin, I want them to see they grew in their faith, made life-long friends, were mentored by the best Christian coaches, and were able to achieve success both as a team and individually. Playing a small part in helping our student-athletes and coaches achieve those objectives brings me a lot of joy.
