Calvin University

Dr. Kornoelje joined the Calvin College Sports Medicine Staff in2003. As Team Physician, he oversees the rest of the SportsMedicine Staff as they provide injury prevention, recognition,care, and rehabilitation to Calvin College student-athletes.

A native of Artesia, California, he graduated from CalvinCollege and earned his medical degree from the College ofOsteopathic Medicine at Michigan State University (East Lansing,MI). As a family practice physician, he also completed a sportsmedicine fellowship at Metro Health Hospital in Grand Rapids, MI.In addition to being Calvin’s Team Physician and working in abusy practice, he currently serves as Medical Director for MetroHealth Sports Medicine and is also the team physician for the GrandRapids Griffins and the West Michigan Edge. He is also the MedicalDirector for several runs and triathlons, including theReed’s Lake Triathlon and the Metro Health Grand RapidsMarathon.

In his free time he enjoys spending time with his wife andchildren, playing and coaching soccer, running, and downhillskiing.
