CALVIN HITTING COACH
Coach Rob Hamly is a 2006 graduate from Caledonia High School, In Caledonia, Michigan. For the Fighting Scots, Coach Hamly was a two-year letter winner on both the varsity baseball and 2005 Division III State Champion Football team.
After graduating from Caledonia High School, Coach Hamly continued his baseball playing career as a pitcher at Eastern Michigan University. While with the Eagles, Coach Hamly was a member of the 2007 and 2008 teams that won the Mid-American Conference (MAC) West Division Championship. The 2008 MAC Regular Season Conference Championship team went on to win the MAC Tournament, thus qualifying for the NCAA Tournament.
Coach Hamly completed his degree in secondary education with a major in social studies and a minor in history. He has over 10 years of teaching experience and is enjoying being an educator for Jenison Public Schools as a middle school social studies teacher.
After his collegiate playing career, Coach Hamly applied his love for the game of baseball and teaching into coaching. He began his coaching career as the varsity assistant coach for two seasons at South Lyon High School. Following his time with South Lyon, Coach Hamly then spent six seasons coaching with the Wildcats of Jenison High School. With the Wildcats Coach Hamly worked with the junior varsity team and was the program's lead pitching coach. Prior to his start with the Knights, Coach Hamly was the varsity baseball coach for the Wayland Union Wildcats. Coach Hamly has been a member of the Knights Baseball Program since the fall of 2018, is the hitting coach, and works with the base runners. Along with his time with the Knights, Coach Hamly is the lead hitting instructor and 18u Head Coach for Sluggers Sports Academy.
When Coach Hamly isn’t on the field coaching or in the classroom teaching he enjoys spending time with his wife, Kira, son Robbie, and daughter Charlie.
