FOSTORIA, Ohio – The Calvin University women's golf team closed the first day of the Heidelberg Fall Invite in fourth place on Friday at Fostoria Country Club.
The Knights finished Friday's round with a team score of 323 strokes to trail day-one leader Ohio Northern University (313) by 10 strokes heading into Saturday's second round.
Andrea Diemer (Wyoming, Mich./Calvin Christian) and
Lana Moore (Rockford, Mich./Rockford) led the way for the Knights with matching rounds of 79 to tie for 11th place on the individual leaderboard. Diemer got off to a strong start, playing the first five holes in 1-under par, while Moore carded a birdie on the 10th hole on the way to her score.
Ashley Diovardi (Northville, Mich./Detroit Country Day) shot 82 to tie for 20th place, while
Ava McConnon (Grand Rapids, Mich./NorthPointe Christian) shot 83 and sits in a tie for 24th place.
Andrea Plantz (Lowell, Mich./Lowell) shot 89 playing as an individual wild card entrant, while
Elizabeth Lubowicki (Brighton, Mich./Brighton) shot 92.
University of Mount Union is in second place after one day with a team score of 321, followed by the Ohio Northern 'B' team with 322.
