LIVONIA, Mich.- The Calvin ACHA D3 hockey team lost 7-3 on the road against ACHA Division 2 Schoolcraft College Saturday night.

The Knights are now 15-3-1 on the season, and ranked 6th in the nation with one regular season game to play before the MCHC tournament.

The scoring didn't get started until the 2nd period, but once the seal was broken the goals started flooding in. Owen Duiker gave Calvin the lead with 17:56 to play in the 2nd period while down a man from Gabriel Sova, and Ian Schweigert.

Tomas Postal put Calvin ahead by 2 with 13:54 to play in the period from Josh Philo, and Gabriel Sova. Unfortunately Calvin's run came to a halt with a pair of goals by Owen McGowan, and a 3rd by Dustin Fretter with 24 seconds left in the period.

Trevor Townsend scored the Ocelots 4th goal of the game just 20 seconds into the 3rd, as well as their 5th with 13:02 left to play. Logan Tripp scored the Ocelots 6th goal of the game with 10:16 remaining. The Ocelots' final goal of the game was scored by Dustin Fretter for his 2nd of the game with 6:06 to play. Sergey Yakunin scored for Calvin with 4:46 to play to end the game as a 7-3 Ocelots victory.

COACHES COMMENT: Head Coach Austin Huizenga, "Credit to Schoolcraft. They're a really good team. They play fast and quick and don't make a lot of mistakes. They were able to capitalize on our mistakes. These are good games to play as we get closer to the end of the year and learn from our mistakes. We look forward to another trip to play Adrian's D2 program. That should be a contest as we look forward to our conference tournament."

NEXT UP: Calvin plays Adrian's D2 program on Saturday February 14th at 4 p.m. The game will be held at Adrian and will be Calvin's Last game before the MCHC tournament which Calvin will be entering as the top seed.
