GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin dropped a 4-1 decision to ninth-ranked Adrian Saturday night in the GL6 Tournament Championship game. The meeting was the third of the year between the two GL6 rivals with the teams splitting the two regular season matchups.
Saturday marked the second straight year the two teams met in the GL6 Tournament Championship game.
Adrian grabbed a 1-0 lead on a first period goal by Sebastian Smith. The Bulldogs (27-6-2) grabbed a 2-0 lead in the second period on a tally by Blake Wideman. Wideman added another in the third to make it 3-0.

th nationally, the Knights (20-8-2) grabbed a lifeline on a short-handed goal by junior
Joel Fonovic as he was able to whirl around the Adrian goal and score on a wraparound shot. The Fonovic goal made it a 3-1 game with 7:47 remaining.
Calvin continued to push but was unable to push another shot past Adrian goaltender
Peyton Trzaska with the Bulldogs sealing the win with an empty-net goal in the closing seconds.
Sophomore
Aidan Feddema got the start in goal for Calvin and was busy throughout the night, making several saves to keep the Knights in the game.
