SOUTHFIELD Mich.- The Calvin ACHA D3 hockey team completed the sweep of 19th ranked Lawrence Tech on the road on Saturday evening. The Knights won 4-3, and are now 13-1-1 on the season while holding its spot as the No. 6 ranked team in the country.

Calvin struck first, with a goal from Myles Radersma just 48 seconds into the game. Owen Hodel was in on the assist. Calvin scored its 2nd of the game just 21 seconds later. Brock Hearth gave the Knights a two-goal lead while Owen Hodel made his 2nd assist of the game. Luke Radu scored for Tech with 9:02 left to play to bring the game back within a score.

Radu scored his 2nd of the game in the 2nd period to tie the game back up with 15:51 to play in the period. Trevor Losier had the assist. Calvin regained its lead with 8:56 to play in the period with a power play goal from Joel Dielemen and assists from Luke Afman, and Owen Duiker. Calvin extended its lead in the 3rd with a goal from Bennett Eisma, with 11:07 left to play, on another power play. Nathan Sova and Owen Hodel assisted the goal. Lawrence Tech fought back with a late push and a solo goal from Jeff Rand with 7:37 left to play. However, Calvin was able to hold off Tech and maintain its 4-3 lead to win the game.

COACHES COMMENT: Head Coach Austin Huizenga, "Very good team win for us. LTU is a hardworking, talented team with a high compete level. The team we played Friday was not the same team and the team we played Saturday was what I was expecting. It was a good weekend for us. Now we look forward to a fun weekend against WMU."

NEXT UP: Calvin plays on Thursday January 22nd at home. The game will be at 9 p.m. against Western Michigan University.
