Calvin University senior Sophie Bull was named MIAA Athlete of the Week for women's cross country on Monday.
 
Bull (Denver, Colo./Denver Christian) won the honor after leading the Knights at the Diemer Classic hosted by Calvin at Gainey Athletic Complex on Saturday, September 13.
 
Bull took first place overall in the 5k race and finished in a time of 17:23.2, which was more than 46 seconds faster than any other runner at the event.
 
With Bull leading the way, Calvin finished first in the team competition with a team score of 22 total points.
 
This marks the third time Bull has been awarded MIAA Athlete of the Week honors for women's cross country in her career.
 
Calvin cross country will return to action on Friday, September 19, when it travels to Western Michigan University for the George Dales Invite.
