Calvin University junior
Steven Ickes has received All-America honors from the American Collegiate Hockey Association.
A center forward, Ickes (Marine City, MI Oakland Jr Grizzlies) has been named to the ACHA Division I All-America First Team.
He is the second individual in Calvin program history to receive All-America honors at the ACHA Division I level with Jared Virtanen and
Jacob Siebenga the first to do so back in 2020.
In addition, he is the 10
th individual in Calvin history to be named an ACHA All-American.
Ickes recently completed a standout junior campaign that saw him produce 17 goals, 41 assists and 58 points for a Calvin ACHA Division I team that finished 25-7-0, setting a new program records for wins in a season at the Division I level. Ickes finished fourth in ACHA Division I in total points.
As a team, Calvin finished 11th in the final ACHA Division I National Rankings.
"I'm so proud of Steven and how he has performed this season," said Calvin ACHA Division I head coach
Josh Petrusma. "He has taken his game to another level and has show an ability to take over games. Beyond finishing in the top five in scoring in the country, he is also a top penalty killer and is utilized in every situation. He is a true 200 foot centerman and a leader in our locker room."
Ickes helped Calvin earn a trip to the ACHA Division I National Tournament with the Knights defeating John Carroll 3-1 in the first round and then falling to Adrian in the second round. Ickes was subsequently named to the ACHA Division I All-Tournament Team.
