GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Calvin dropped its weekend finale against fourth-ranked Lawrence Tech Saturday night, falling 4-1. The sixth-ranked Knights (9-4-3) hung right with the Blue Devils for a good portion of the match but Lawrence Tech scored a pair of goals in the final period of play to seal the win.

Zach Westrick eight minutes into the second period to give fifth-ranked Calvin a 1-0 lead after a scoreless opening period. Lawrence Tech scored less than a minute later to tie the game and then took the lead on a score with 5:57 left in the second period.
The game remained 2-1 in favor of Lawrence Tech until the Blue Devils scored a key goal with 6:22 remaining. Lawrence Tech added a final score in the closing seconds to close out the win.
Lawrence Tech held a 39-22 shots on goal advantage. Junior
Ryan Worosz came up with 35 saves in goal for the Knights.
COACHES COMMENT: "Lawrence Tech played a good solid defensive game," said Calvin head coach Austin Huizenga. "They limited our chances and capitalized on theirs. We'll have a good week of practice and prepare for Olivet Nazarene.
NEXT UP: Calvin will now prepare to host Olivet Nazarene for a pair of games next weekend. The series will open next Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Eagles Ice Center.
