ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The ACHA D1 hockey team concluded its season with a 4-1 defeat to No. 2 Adrian in the second round of the ACHA D1 National Tournament. The Knights conclude their season with an overall record of 22-10-1.

Adrian scored a pair of late first period goals to take a 2-0 lead.

The Bulldogs (31-5) added two more goals in the second period to build a 4-0 advantage.

Calvin got a goal back 6:56 into the third with freshman Ethan Pool converting a feed from freshman Adam Heard and sophomore Steven Ickes.

Neither team scored from that point on.

Adrian held a 30-15 shots at goal advantage.

Freshman Adam Yost came up with 26 saves for the Knights in goal.

Calvin was making its third appearance in the ACHA D1 National Tournament over the last four years.

COACHES COMMENT: "It's always tough to have your season finish," said Calvin head coach Mike Petrusma. "Our seniors have been fantastic during their time and have helped our program continually improve. Adrian is the standard and each year we continue to close the gap. We will be ready next season to reach that level and contend for a national championship."
