GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- The 11th ranked Calvin Knights defeated Aquinas at home, 10-0 on Friday night December 6th, in the 1st game of the GRSHOF Tournament. The Knights are now 15-2-0.
Hayden Zimmerman scored the only goal of the 1st period with under 6 minutes left to play in the period. He was assisted by
Steven Ickes.
The goals came rolling in during the 2nd period with the Knights scoring five.
Hayden Zimmerman collected his 2nd of the game while
Ethan Best,
Tony Eaton,
Holden Pratt, and Krzyzstof Petryal all scored a goal apiece.
The Knights kept the momentum going in the 3rd period with an additional 4 goals.
Steven Ickes scored the 1st of the period, while
Krzyzstof Petryla scored twice to complete his hat trick.
Lou Vesperini Scored the Final goal of the game to cap off an Impressive win for the Knights.
Adam Yost was in goal for Calvin while Aquinas split the time between Max Johnston and Simon Johnson. Calvin put a total of 48 shots on goal and Aquinas put up 17.
NEXT UP: Calvin's next opponent will be against Grand Valley State University Saturday December 7th at 7:30pm. The Knights will host at Eagles Ice arena. The Knights look to win the GRSHOF tournament with the game against budding rival GVSU.
