GRAND RAPIDS, Mich.- Calvin took down Aquinas College (Mich.) 4-0 at home on Wednesday night. Calvin is now 10-1 on the season.
Hayden Zimmerman scored the 1st goal of the game in the 16th minute of the 1st period. He was assisted by
Steven Ickes.
Joel Fonovic followed up with a goal 2 minutes later on a power play. He was assisted by
Krzyzstof Petryla and
Nick Justice. Calvin had 19 shots on goal in the 1st period while Aquinas had 8.
In the 2nd period neither team was able to capitalize. Calvin had 23 shots on goal while Aquinas had 10.
In the 3rd period Calvin scored its 3rd goal of the game with 11:50 remaining in the game.
Lou Vesperini scored from
Jacob Boucha and
Krzyzstof Petryla. Calvins final goal of the game was scored while short handed.
Steven Ickes knocked it in with 3:45 to play from
Krzyzstof Petryla, giving Petryla a hat trick on assists. Calvin had 16 shots on goal in the 3rd period while Aquinas had 5.Â
Carlos Siso was in net for the Knights making 23 saves and allowing 0 goals. Randon Striplin made 54 saves for Aquinas and allowed 4 goals. The Knights outshot Aquinas 58-23.
