HOLLAND, Mich.- The Calvin Knights lost 5-2 on the road against Hope college on Friday night. The Knights are now 7-3-1 overall on the season.

Griffin Riemersma scored the only goal of the 1st period for the Flying Dutchmen off an assist from Jake Nanna. Mac Schick was in net for the Dutch, and Garret Walker was in net for the Knights.Â

Calvin scored two in a row in the 2nd to take the lead from Hope.
Myles Radersma scored unassisted 36 seconds into the period off a full-rink rush and
Harry Ottsen scored another to give the Knights the lead with 14:20 left to play in the period also unassisted. The Dutchmen however came flying back, scoring three straight. Colton Laufer scored with 13:32 left in the period, while Jake Nanna and Gunnar Suidinsky both scored within 10 seconds of each other with under 6 minutes to play in the period.

Nolan Holtrop scored with 12:45 left to play in the game to put the Dutchmen ahead by 3 and close off the game. The Knights were held scoreless in the 3rd period.

COACHES COMMENT: Head Coach Austin Huizenga, "Hope had a really good game plan. They played hard and physical and were ready to play."

NEXT UP: Calvins next game will be the 2nd leg of the double header against Hope on Saturday November 23rd at 7:30pm. The Game will be hosted by the Knights at Eagles Ice Center.
