ALLENDALE Mich.- Calvin suffered its 1st defeat of the season, falling 4-2 Friday night at the hands of Grand Valley State University on the road. Calvin is now 6-1 on the year.

Calvin went up 2-0 in the 1st period scoring both its goals with under 3 minutes remaining in the period. With 2:48 left in the period
Harry Ottsen scored to give the Knights the lead with assists from
Gabriel Sova and
Josiah Lambers. 23 seconds later Calvin scored its 2nd of the game.
Sergey Yakunin put it in the back of the net with an assist from
Harry Ottsen.

GVSU got on the board late in the 2nd period with a goal from Andrew Bouwman. That was the only goal in the 2nd period as the Lakers began to crawl their way back into the game.

Grand Valley scored 3 straight goals in the 3rd period to complete its come-back win at home. Steve Myers, Sam Gorno, and Justin Chevalier all scored to put GVSU in front 4-2. Garret Walker was in goal for the Knights and Bobby Masters was the Lakers goalie.

COACHES COMMENT: Head coach Austin Huizenga, "Kudos to GVSU for not rolling when going down 2-0. They battled and played hard for 60 minutes. We have to come out tomorrow and play a full 60 minutes."
