ADRIAN Mich.- The Calvin ACHA Division 1 men's hockey team Lost at No. 2 Adrian College 7-2 Thursday night. Ranked 12
th nationally, the Knights are now 18-6-1 ahead of their home game against Adrian on Saturday.

Calvin struck first, scoring just a minute-and-a-half into the game.
Kyle VanDusen lit the lamp from a
Jacob Siebenga assist. The Calvin lead did not last long as Adrian scored with 16:29 left in the 1st period to tie the game back up. Sebastian Smith scored off a pass from Matteo DiGiulio. The game swayed back in favor of the Knights when
Krzyzstof Petryla scored a solo goal with 5 minutes left in the period. The Knights led 2-1 at the end of the 1st period despite giving up 15 shots on goal and only putting up 8 of their own.

Adrian brought the game back to even terms with 17:23 left in the 2nd period when Ethan McLaughlin scored from Brodie Thornton and Nash Hatcher. The game remained tied until 4:25 left in the 2nd period where Matteo DiGiulio scored the go-ahead goal for Adrian from Sebastian Smith and Sheldon Nolan. Adrian scored its 3rd goal of the period with 1:13 remaining. Blake Wideman scored from Matthew DiCesare. Adrian put up another 15 shots on goal while Calvin had just 6.

Adrian put three more goals up against the Knights in the 3rd period to go up 7-2. Adrian scored at the 14:23 mark, the 11:11 mark, and again with 6:28 left in the game. Adrian shot an additional 16 shots on goal while Calvin had 7.Â

NEXT UP: Calvin plays Adrian in a rematch at home, at 5:30 P.M. Saturday the 27th. The game will be in Grand Rapids at Eagles Ice Center.
