Calvin Women's Lacrosse Rolls by North Central to Complete Non-Conference Slate

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Calvin women's lacrosse team concluded its non-conference scheduled with a resounding 22-3 victory over the visiting Cardinals of North Central College Saturday afternoon at Eagles Stadium.

Calvin (4-4) reeled off eight unanswered goals to close out the second quarter and lead 13-3 at halftime.

The Knights outscored North Central 10-0 in the second half – scoring five goals in the third and also in the fourth quarter – to seal the win.

Senior Makaelah McClymont (Camp Hill, Pa./Covenant Christian Academy) scored a career-high five goals and added a career-high five assists to help lead the way.  McClymont scored three of her five goals in the first half.

Senior Megan Gilbert (Lansing, Mich./Holt HS) had a monster game with six goals, two assists and 14 draw controls while causing two opponent turnovers. Gilbert now sits second on the Calvin career list in goals (217) and points (247).

Freshman Anneliese Hanson (Naperville, Il./Naperville North HS) scored the first three goals of her collegiate career, notching a hat trick in the process. Freshman Audrey Booher (Fishers, Ind./Heritage Christian HS) had three goals and two assists.

Senior Lainey Aldridge (Grosse Pointe Woods, Mich./Grosse Pointe North HS) had three goals and one assist.

Freshman Jacey Smith (Watertown, Wisc./Watertown HS) had a pair of goals while sophomore Meghan Chang (Clarksburg, Md./Clarksburg HS) had one goal.

Senior Jessica Camp (O'Fallon, Il./O'Fallon Township HS) had a pair of saves in notching her fourth victory of the season.

COACHES COMMENT: "I'm really proud of how our team played today," said Calvin head women's lacrosse coach Blake Boehm. "We came out playing for each other and had a united game plan. Our defense was stout and our team took to heart the principles of solid transition offense. Our offensive players got the shots they needed to get. It was a good showing."

NEXT UP: Calvin will travel to Alma on April 5 for its MIAA opener with game time set for 7 p.m.
