BIG RAPIDS, Mich.- The Calvin ACHA division 3 men's hockey team defeated Ferris State University 5-2 on the road. The Knights are now 10-5 on the year.

Calvin's
Joe Lugge scored two minutes into the game, and
Josiah Harsh scored a minute later, assisted by Zach Seaman, and
Gabriel Sova. The Knights ended the game with a 2-goal lead over Ferris.

Brock Hearth scored for the Knights with 12:15 left in the 2nd period, from
Tomas Postal and
Joe Lugge to put Calvin up 3. Ferris fought back at the end of the period with a goal from Trevor VanVliet with under 4 minutes remaining in the period. Chase Adams and Mike Puruloski assisted. With 56 seconds left in the period Ferris brought the game back within 1. Brennan Karn lit the lamp from Ian Goffney and Cullen Ellis.

Calvin closed the game off with two goals to secure the victory.
Harry Ottsen scored with just over 8 minutes remaining, while
Owen Duiker and
Ian Schweigert assisted. Zach Seaman scored with 6:31 left in the game to put Calvin up 5-2. Calvin had 35 shots on goal to Ferris State's 20.

COACHES COMMENT: Head Coach Austin Huizenga-"We had a weird week of practice due to some issues at the rink. We had good 1st and 3rd periods. Need to have a better 2nd period. Overall, happy with how we responded in the 3rd."

NEXT UP: Calvin hosts Ferris State on Saturday, December 2 at 4 p.m. The game will be at Eagles Ice Arena in Grand Rapids Michigan.
